Hi, I'm Jason Prickett

I'm based near Chudleigh, between Exeter and Newton Abbot. I run South West Websites, an independent web design and development business building fast custom websites and practical web apps for Devon organisations, then looking after them once they're live.

Why I started

Website builders have made it easier than ever to produce a website. That is useful, but a starting point is not the same as a clear online presence. I started South West Websites to help local businesses decide what customers need to see, make the next step obvious, and have one person looking after the site once it is live.

How I work

A free mock-up first. You see what your site could look like before paying anything.
Clear, fixed prices. Agreed in writing before work starts.
Clear ownership. Your domain is registered to you. Website ownership and any pay-monthly term are agreed in writing before work starts.
Custom by default. I build lightweight custom websites around your business, rather than forcing your content into a pre-made template. That gives me more control over the design, performance and technical setup.
Looked after. Optional monthly care for updates, backups and small changes.

Experience

Alongside business websites, I've built and still run two private web applications for local football communities. They handle recurring attendance, team and match workflows, results, records, payments, admin tools and mobile-first use. They're shown through anonymised case studies on the site. That experience means South West Websites can go beyond a brochure site when a business needs a booking system, member area, dashboard or bespoke workflow.

Every site is built to last: fast on a phone, secure by default, spam-protected forms, and the search basics done properly rather than bolted on.

Being based near Chudleigh puts me within easy reach of Exeter, Newton Abbot, Torbay and South Devon. I also work with businesses across the county, including Plymouth, Totnes, Tavistock, Barnstaple and Tiverton. I can meet in person, talk by phone or use a video call, whichever is easiest.
