A website built around Christian’s painting
A website for Beacon of Love CIC, a Greater Manchester community interest company running creative arts sessions that help young people build confidence and skills.

A clear first impression for a new organisation
Christian Small founded Beacon of Love for young people aged 5 to 25. He needed a website that helps schools, colleges and community groups understand the sessions and get in touch. It also had to show sponsors, donors and funders how to support the work.
I designed a handful of directions from his brand guidelines and his own mock-ups. He chose “Golden hour”, and I built it into a six-page site with a contact form and Zeffy donations.

One painting in six colours
Christian asked for each page to have its own colour scheme. I tinted his golden-hour painting to each page’s colour and set it behind the page title. A painted brush stroke in the same colour closes the page.
I checked each colour for contrast in light and dark mode, so the text stays readable against the brighter shades.

On a phone
The painting crops in around the lighthouse and the name stays large, with the introduction below it in one column. The menu sits behind a single button at the top.
A route for each visitor
For schools and colleges

For sponsors, donors and funders
A Support us page with donations through Zeffy.
For Christian
